Nirvi Shah
Hey guys! My name is Nirvi Shah and I'm a 3rd year Biological Sciences major. It's my first year as an official tutor at UCI, and I'm super excited to help you in your future writing dilemmas! My Humanities Core Course freshman year has taught me to appreciate a variety of writing skills and literature. Writing is a skill every student should master, and I feel as if my experiences will inspire others to think, write and express their opinions in a creative manner. I look forward to meeting you and hope my background in the sciences will attract a variety of students. :)

Daphne Le
Hello! My name is Daphne Le and I am a fourth-year English Major. As a student in the Campuswide Honors Program, I always seek to challenge myself in my areas of study, and I am particularly passionate about the craft of writing. My other interests include art history, classical ballet and dance, and American cultural history. As an aspiring novelist, I have had to become more than familiar with the library and all its research resources, as well as the fussy niceties of editing and revising one's writing over (and over) again. Writing for classes can be difficult and frustrating, but that's why we are here to help! Please feel free to drop by any time you're having trouble with a paper or essay!

Millie Lein
Hi! My name is Millie Lein and I'm a fourth year student studying Literary Journalism and Criminology, Law & Society. Both majors require a lot of writing, so I've felt the frustration that writing often brings. My approach to writing papers is to plan them out first through brainstorming and outlining. I love meeting new people, so come by with your prompts, outlines, and drafts. I am excited to work with you!

Danny Torrance
Hello! I'm Danny Torrance, and I am excited to be one of your writing tutors for this year. This will be my third year at UCI, and I am majoring in Psychology and Social Behavior, and am planning on minoring in Cognitive Sciences and Management. I have always enjoyed reading books and writing, and I hope to make it enjoyable for you as well. One of my biggest passions is playing and writing music. I played saxophone in the Wind Ensemble here at UCI during my sophomore year, and I play guitar in my free time. I love helping and talking to people, so don't be afraid to come and ask me any questions you might have. I look forward to meeting all of you!

Sarah Schumacher
Hello everyone! I'm a fifth year transfer student at UCI, enjoying everything about the college experience and enthusiastically planning for graduate school. I'm a double major in PSB and English and a double minor in Education and Philosophy. I'm planning on getting my Master's in Education and a single subject teaching credential with the hopes of becoming an (awesome) high school English teacher. I just finished a summer of travel-abroad at Cambridge University and it was definitely a life changing experience. Besides school and planning for my future, I love to read, swim, and go to Disneyland. I love my job as a Peer Tutor and am so excited about seeing new faces (and old ones!) this school year. Please feel free to drop in and discuss your papers and ideas with me, or if you just feel like having a conversation about college in general. I love meeting people and helping others in every way that I can! I look forward to meeting and working together with you!

Deanna Ong
Hi, my name is Deanna, and I am a fourth-year student, doubling in Literary Journalism and International Studies. As a freshman, the task of writing my first research paper initially seemed like a daunting and (admittedly) tedious assignment. But by learning to break down the process into manageable steps, and with the help of peers, my professor, and a vast amount of resources, I finished and even won an undergraduate UROP award! With my experience as a copy editor and editorial columnist, I would like to help you develop your writing, research, and organizational skills, or just to offer general advice for your paper. Writing does not have to be painful, and you definitely do not have to go through it alone, so please make use of us and stop by :)
